Nepali Congress General Minister Gagan Thapa has said that fair elections and protecting the constitution is the main responsibility of everyone in the present situation. He said that the government should not get confused when the election date has been announced.

Publicizing the appeal through social media on Monday, General Minister Thapa said that the government should ensure an environment where fair elections are held on time in a fear-free environment.

'The political situation that has been created today after the movement, this is today's reality, let's accept it. The interim government has been formed, the date of the election has been announced. Being a responsible democratic party, let us ensure the election at the appointed time, let us help the government that has taken the responsibility of conducting the election for this purpose,'' he said, urging the Congress leaders and workers, 'Let us warn if the government deviates from this basic responsibility somewhere or gets confused. Let's not forget that it has become today's main national responsibility to bring the constitution and democracy to the right tack by holding fair elections on time in a fear-free environment.'

Saying that the two-day movement of Gen-G youth has brought the country to a new political situation, Thapa said that the Congress now needs to move forward in a new way. Although the House of Representatives has been dissolved, the National Assembly, the Provincial Assembly and the local government remain. It is our main responsibility to protect the basic values of the constitution and democratic institutions,' says Thapa.

He said that the actual damage caused by the suppression by the state during the Gen-G movement and the vandalism and arson that happened the next day should be collected and the culprits should be punished.

He says that party reorganization has now become a mandatory requirement. Let's start the reorganization campaign with a resolution from the Constitution Day itself. Radical reform is necessary in all of our issues and style, from party membership, organization structure, leadership selection process, to create a party that leads a corruption-free state and society raised by the Gen-G movement,' he said.
