Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli has commented that the issue of former President Bidya Devi Bhandari's party membership has been raised unnecessarily.
Addressing the party's second legislative convention held at Sunrise Hall in Godavari, Lalitpur on Friday, he said that the matter is not related to the convention and therefore cannot be discussed. He clarified that since the issue of former President Bhandari's party membership is a matter of committee discussion, it will be discussed there. Mentioning that some things were tried to be carried forward in an unnecessary manner in the
party, Prime Minister Oli said that it cannot be called a topic of discussion in the Legislative Assembly. He also said that the discussion will focus on the issues related to the legislation in the legislative convention.
Prime Minister Oli said, 'In the Legislative Assembly, some topics have been unnecessarily advanced from time to time. They are not related to the Legislative Assembly. Those topics are the subject of committee discussions elsewhere. They become the subject of discussion in the Standing Committee or Central Committee. In the legislative convention, the discussion is focused on the legislation itself.'
President Oli will present a political report, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel will present a legislative amendment proposal and General Secretary Shankar Pokharel will present an organizational report at the convention. Prime Minister Oli said that discussions will be held in the Legislative Assembly focusing on the same agenda.
