China's answer to the border dispute cannot be considered positive: MP Badu

Not only India but also China automatically joins Nepal's western border. The western border of Nepal's Darchula is connected not only to India but also to China. That is the trilateral point. According to the Sugauli Treaty, Limpiyadhura will be the trilateral border point, that's why China will join.'

Ruling Congress MP Dilendra Prasad Badu has said that the answer given by Chinese President Xi Jinping on the ongoing border dispute regarding Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani of Nepal is not satisfactory for Nepal.

During Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's ongoing visit to China, Badu said that President Xi tried to dismiss the Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani border disputes as two sides between India and Nepal.

In the meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Badu, the MP elected from Darchula, said that the answer given by the Chinese side in the meeting with Prime Minister Oli was not satisfactory for Nepal.  The

is a matter to be resolved and the answer given by clearly avoiding it by saying that you are not involved in the side or the opposition can never be considered positive and it cannot be considered that the expected respect for our sovereignty has been manifested.

In the context of sensitive issues like geographical integrity and sovereignty of Nepal and the background of diplomatic initiatives and sent protest notes, Badu said that Prime Minister Oli seriously raised the issue in a formal meeting with President Xi of China, but the Chinese side was sidelined . "The Prime Minister's response to this sensitive matter, which the Prime Minister took so seriously in the official meeting with the Chinese President, by the President of the friendly nation of China, that the border dispute between Nepal and India should be resolved bilaterally and that he is not involved in the side or the opposition, can never be considered positive," said Badu. In terms of its geographical integrity and sovereignty, China, a friendly country that always expects Nepal to respect the one-China policy, it is natural for us to expect Nepal to respect our borders, geographical integrity and sovereignty.

Badu also said that China, which agreed to do business with India in Nepal's Lipulekh, is now trying to avoid it. It was agreed between China and India in 2072 and 2082 Bhadra 3 to make the Lipulek Pass a trade route between the two countries.

Badu said that since Limpiyadhura, the northwestern border of Nepal at Darchula, is a tri-national border point, China is also involved there. 'Not only India but also China automatically joins Nepal's western border.  The western border of Nepal's Darchula is not only connected with India but also with China. That is the trilateral point . According to the Sugauli Treaty, Limpiyadhura will be the trilateral border point. That's why China comes to join,' said Badu.

Badu also said that since Limpiyadhura, the northwestern border of Nepal, is a trilateral point, all the three countries should resolve the dispute together.

Similarly, Badu also objected to the fact that the press note issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China after the meeting with Prime Minister Oli did not mention the Lipulek Pass, but it did not mention that Nepal had agreed to the GSI. "Regarding the objections raised by the Prime Minister regarding the issue of Lipulekh, there was no mention in the press note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, but instead it was mentioned in the statement that Nepal agreed to the GSI proposal, which was said not to be on the agenda of the discussion. Why and how? In this regard, the Prime Minister's Secretariat and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should clarify, Badu demanded.
