Ganesh Parajuli, Member of Parliament of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, has said that his party is firm that Mahakaliparika Lipulek, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani areas are indivisible parts of Nepal.
Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting, MP Parajuli requested the government to clarify the China-India agreement before the visit to China and create a common concept regarding nationality. He said that the historical fact that the Kali River is the western border of Nepal from the Sugauli Treaty of 1816 cannot be a subject of dispute. He says that various evidences confirm that Limpiyadhura is the source of Kali river and this river is the western border of Nepal. He insists that any agreement made between India and China will not be legal without the direct participation and consent of Nepal.
He said, 'No party or government can have a greater responsibility than the protection of the integrity, sovereignty and geographical independence of the nation. Any agreement or activity done by other countries on the territory of Nepal without the direct participation and consent of Nepal is not and cannot be legal. Such an act is not only a blow to the principle of mutual respect and coexistence, but also a blow to Nepal's national pride. The agreement between India and China to use the Lipulekh route without the participation of Nepal is illegal under international law. People have asked, why is the government silent?'
He also drew the attention of the government to take diplomatic initiatives to solve the problem of border disputes in the country.
