The election of the Chairman of the State Order and Good Governance Committee will be held on August 11.   On Monday, Speaker Devraj Ghimire informed the spokesperson and joint secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Ekram Giri, that according to sub-rule (1) of Rule 176 of the House of Representatives Rules, 2079, the election has been scheduled for the 11th.

According to him, as per the constitutional provision that the election should be completed within 15 days after the position of the Chairman of the Committee becomes vacant, the Speaker has set the election date as Monday is the last day. Spokesman Giri said that the names of the candidates whose proposals and support have been registered for the post of chairman from among the committee members will be presented at the committee's meeting on the 11th. The senior members of the committee will conduct the meeting. 

According to the provisions of the House of Representatives Rules 2079, there is a provision that if the post of chairman of any subject committee becomes vacant, it must be filled by election within 15 days. According to the Speaker's order, a notice has been published for the election of the Chairman of the State Order and Good Governance Committee.

According to the notice, in order for a member to be elected to the post of chairman from among the committee members, a proposal must be submitted by another member and a proposal and notice must be registered with the support of one of the members. The proposal received in this way will be registered and presented at the meeting of the State Order and Good Governance Committee held on the 11th. There is a constitutional provision that the meeting should be conducted by the senior members of the committee.
