Newly appointed Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Indra Bahadur Banian has taken oath. Provincial Chief Minister Deepak Prasad Devkota administered the oath of office and secrecy to Baniyan, who became the Chief Minister from the Congress, during a ceremony on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Baniyan formed an 8-member cabinet on Tuesday. 2 Congress and 6 UML ministers have taken oath in the Banian-led government.
In the state, only Krishna Kumar Tamang and Shivraj Adhikari from Congress have become ministers, while Madhusudhan Paudel, Kiran Thapa Magar, Bharat Bahadur KC, Dr. Dineshchandra Devkota and Bindu Shrestha have become ministers. They were also sworn in by the state chief Devkota on Tuesday.
It is said that the ministry of the official who became a minister on behalf of the Congress will be assigned later, while Tamang has been given the responsibility of water supply minister.
On behalf of UML, Madhusudhan Paudel has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Dr. Dinesh Chandra Devkota has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Bindu Shrestha has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Land Administration, and Jairam Thapa has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Transport. Kiran Thapa Magar has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Health, while Bharat Bahadur KC has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Forest and Environment.
Speaker Bhuwan Pathak, Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Banian, former Chief Minister Dormani Paudel, outgoing Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama Tamang, Minister, Chief Secretary of Bagmati Province Bhupal Baral, secretaries of ministries, heads of security agencies were present in the swearing-in ceremony.
