Devotees had started arriving at Ram Ghat since Thursday evening for the fair that will be held on Friday. There was a queue of people from 3 pm to take a bath at Ram Ghat and offer prayers at the nearby Ram Janaki Temple.
The historic Ramghat Mela of the district has attracted a large crowd of devotees. Thousands of devotees had come since Wednesday morning to celebrate the Nahan Mela held at Ramghat on the Banganga River in Kapilvastu Municipality on the day of Kartik Shukla Purnima. Pilgrims have come from far and wide as it is important from a religious point of view.
शुक्रबार लाग्ने मेलाका लागि बिहीबार साँझैदेखि राम घाटमा श्रद्धालु भक्तजन आउने क्रम सुरु भएको थियो। राति ३ बजेदेखि नै रामघाटमा स्नान गरी नजिकैको रामजानकी मन्दिरमा पूजाआजा गर्नेको लाइन थियो।
मन्दिर वरिपरि र नदी किनारमा रातभर साधु सन्त जाग्राम बसेर ढोल, खैंजडी, झाँझ र हरमोनियम बजाउँदै भजन, कीर्तन र चुड्का गाउँदै बसेका थिए।
रामघाटमा स्नान गरी नदी छेउमा गौदान पनि गर्ने गरिन्छ। गौदान गरे मनोकांक्षा पूरा हुने जनविश्वास रहेकाले धेरै भक्तजन यहाँ गौदान गर्न पनि आउने गरेको पुरोहितहरूले बताएका छन्। त्यसैगरी जिल्लाकै लक्ष्मणघाट, सिताघाट, बर्गदीघाट र सन्तघाटमा मंगलबारदेखि नै मेला लागेको छ।
