On Navami, the day before Dasain, the streets of Kathmandu valley are deserted today. During Dasain, the biggest and longest festival of Hindus, most of the people in the valley have gone to their homes and the roads which are always busy and traffic jammed have become deserted. Most people have gone home by Tuesday. Some isolated passengers from the nearby districts have reserved small vehicles and are heading home early in the morning.
