Nagpanchami was celebrated religiously on Tuesday by worshiping the living snake at the famous Tauleshwarnath Mahadev temple in the headquarters Taulihawa.On the day of Nagapanchami, Goman snake was worshiped in the temple premises by offering milk, lava, chana, akshata, avir, sandalwood and flowers. There is a religious belief that if snakes are worshiped on the day of Nag Panchami, one will be protected from snake bites throughout the year and the family will be safe.There was a crowd of worshipers from 7 am to noon. Three serpents came with 3 goman snakes. According to tradition, the devotees worshiped the snake and donated cash. The young woman wrapped the snake in the valley and took pictures.
