Today is the 212th birth anniversary of Bhanubhakta Acharya, the first poet of Nepali literature. In memory of Bhanu, various programs are being held in the country and abroad. Nepal Pragya Pratishthan today conducted the Prabhat Feri in Kathmandu and also made two literary men climb the chariot. Kavidwaya Tulsi Diwas and Govindaraj Vinodi's chariot ride.

संस्कृत भाषामा लेखिएको अयोध्याका राजा रामको जीवनीलाई भावानुवादसहित भानुभक्तले ‘रामायण’ तयार पारेका थिए । १८७१ असार २९ गते तनहुँको चुँदीरम्घा गाउँमा जन्मिएका भानुभक्तलाई घाँसीले ‘जन्मेपछि राम्रो काम गरेर नाम कमाउनुपर्छ’ भनी उपदेश दिएपछि उनी रामायणलाई नेपालीमा रचना गर्न प्रेरित भएका थिए । ‘वधुशिक्षा’, ‘प्रश्नोत्तर’, ‘भक्तमाला’, ‘रामगीता’, फूटकर रचनालगायत उनका कृति हुन् । भानुभक्तको निधन १९२५ असोजमा भएको थियो ।
