The elephant and tourism festival has started in Sauraha from Thursday. The Elephant Festival has been started since 2005 by the Regional Hotel Association (HAN) Sauraha in reference to Christmas and English New Year. This is the 18th Elephant Festival. The festival will be held till Monday 15th of January at the square of Baghmara Central Community Forest in Sauraha. Before the opening of the festival, a cultural tableau of tribal Tharu and other communities came out with a parade of decorated elephants.
