Redefining government-citizen relations

The pace of development has not accelerated as the country's leadership remains in the hands of a limited number of individuals from a limited number of political parties. Therefore, the re-branding of the new government formed after the Gen-G movement is necessary.

Re-branding is the process of changing the established identity of any product and service, organization, government agency or company. Re-branding is mainly done to gain trust and become relevant to the times. Its real meaning is to bring about a radical change in the quality of products and services, packaging style, technology and relations with stakeholder organizations. And yes - to reduce the distance between the government and the citizens. It is also the process of making old concepts and styles new, modern, simple, easy and people-oriented.

Changing the subject of re-branding, for a long time the style of government in Nepal was the same. While the world environment was changing from different situations in the changing times, it did not have much impact in our country. Although the changes of various periods are considered to have succeeded in making a big leap in political change, the people did not feel the change economically. While saying this, social, cultural, religious transformation and other developmental works are not yet underway. However, issues that directly concern the general public (education, health, employment, good governance) have always been neglected. As the country's leadership remained in the hands of a limited number of individuals from a limited number of political parties, the pace of development could not accelerate. And, the new government formed after the Gen-G movement needs to be re-branded. This is how the government can be re-branded.

Politicians' behavior

Politicians' behavior needs to be made simple and easy. It is necessary to develop political culture in politicians. Since politics is the main mechanism of state governance, the behavior of individuals associated with it needs to be simple, easy and transparent.

Change in working style

The same working style for a long time has created a state of extreme disappointment among the people, which has led to the establishment of today's government as a hope for change. If today's government also starts running with the same working style as yesterday, then change cannot be felt. With the changes in politics over time, it is now necessary to change the working style of the entire stakeholders.

The concept of one door policy

Due to the situation of having to go to different places to complete any work, the general public and service recipients are not able to get efficient and effective services. This has led to delays in work, deterioration in the quality of service, reduction in productivity, and the effectiveness of the service provider organization and the increase in productivity. Ease and simplicity in work are the need of the hour.

Reform in the working style of the government

To prove the old saying that ‘When will the sun shine on the government’ wrong, reform in the working style of the government is inevitable. After the employees dedicate themselves to the service with salary and facilities, they should be able to work considering their role as their duty.

Being able to connect with the young generation

The impact of the long-standing change in the governance system has passed on to today’s young generation. In this day of change, the path to economic prosperity cannot be successful without connecting the young generation to national politics and development. Therefore, the government should prioritize programs that connect the young generation.

Modern service with technology

The government should connect modern service with technology. The government is trying to prioritize the issue because technology makes the process and pace of work easier and faster. It is commendable that it will continue and become more active.

The path to a self-reliant economy

It is necessary for the country to be self-reliant to become prosperous. A prosperous country cannot be imagined through dependence. Therefore, there is no alternative to thinking about reducing the path of dependence and moving forward towards the path of becoming self-reliant. Dependence weakens the country from within. The government should map out the path to a self-reliant economy and move forward.

The current government, which has emerged as a changed environment after the fatigue of the Nepali people, has become the center of people's hopes. Its responsibilities are very important and sensitive. The current government has great challenges as well as opportunities to smoothly assume this responsibility of change. Everyone in the government expects that the government will make good use of this time and strive to fulfill the hopes and trust of the people without ignoring it.

The time has come for the current government to work twice as hard during the day and four times as hard at night to fulfill its responsibilities while respecting the opinion of the Nepali people. This work is possible only with the cooperation of everyone at such an important time. Therefore, everyone should play a positive role in this regard. Any change takes a certain time. Whether it is a positive change or a negative change. The time that took the fertilizer to bring about today's situation also takes another certain time to change. Therefore, one should not expect that today will change tomorrow like a magic wand.

How and where has the work started? Since this issue is increasingly important, the current government should re-brand itself in building a prosperous society through the support and cooperation of all stakeholders, giving positive suggestions in this regard.
