In fact, the youth movement took to the streets last Bhadra to end the nepotism, favoritism, discrimination, misrule, corruption-induced distortions and anomalies that had been flourishing in the country in the past due to political reasons. The sacrifice made by Gen-G was certainly not to run the government with the status quo, that is, from a selfish conservative perspective.
What you should know
From the year 2007 to the 23-24 of last Bhadra, all the movements that took place in Nepal were for the sake of change and prosperity. From the shooting in the chest against the Rana Shahi to every subsequent movement, the majority of those who spontaneously participated were young people. The participation of the young generation in the movement of Bhadra 23-24 was not only unprecedented, dozens of young people even sacrificed their precious lives.
In fact, due to the growing dissatisfaction with the attitude of those in power or the politics of the country, a popular uprising or similar movement was inevitable in the country at some point. The storm of the Gen-G movement is an example of this.
Youth are the carriers of change, the leaders of tomorrow, dreamers of nation-building, and also conscious and conscious citizens. What can be easily assessed here from the form of the past movement of the new generation is that new thinking and consciousness, nationalistic thinking heroes are being born in the country, from whom the era is turning, and the Nepali people are equally eager to hear their footsteps and concentrated sound.
In this sense, it is time for the country not only for the youth to get excited themselves, but also for them to wake up, shine, and take the initiative. In this context, let us remember this patriotic song sung by singer Rajesh Payal Rai in the words of lyricist Ratna Shamsher –
Jag Lamk Chamk Hey Nau Jawan Ho
In its own way, with a new color...
Just as the youth got excited and woke up in the Gen-G movement of Bhadau, the time has come for the youth generation, regardless of party, to lead the country's politics on the right path through the upcoming elections, to take the country to the peak of prosperity and take a leap of change. Otherwise, time waits for no one.
In fact, the youth uprising took to the streets last Bhadau to end the nepotism, favoritism, discrimination, misrule, corruption-related distortions and anomalies that had been flourishing in the country in the past due to political reasons. The sacrifice made by Gen-G was certainly not to run the government under the status quo, that is, from a selfish old-fashioned perspective.
In fact, the sacrifice of the youth and the street movement were not only a sacrifice in reality, but also a bold step of the Nepali youth. It is said that every step writes history, and whose sacrifice and sacrifice will be written in golden letters in the history of Nepal.
Therefore, this time, we should not only create an electoral environment in the country, celebrate the election, but also select representatives of energetic, qualified and honest people with new visions. In other words, the responsibility of creating a suitable environment from voting to selecting leadership has fallen on the shoulders of the nationalist youth. In this election, the youth should be given maximum opportunity to be candidates, which is the demand of the present.
It should be remembered that although 53 percent of the voters in the previous election were young, the number of candidates in the age group of 25-40 years out of the total candidates nominated for both levels of parliament was only 1853 (30.82 percent). However, in the upcoming election, about 55 percent of the voters will be young. On that basis, if young candidates of both male and female groups can be selected in an official number, it will instill new hope and confidence in the general voters in the changed context.
The young generation must now take the initiative and have the courage to take the initiative to select capable, capable, combative, and clean-minded people in the upcoming elections, for which the youth must be able to create a favorable environment. No matter which party those youth are from! This was also the main message of the Gen-G movement. It is also necessary for the general voters to learn from the past and take this reality seriously and adopt common sense when voting.
Any worker can be a disciplined, obedient soldier for the party. However, in the name of discipline, it does not mean that 'one must be subservient and the leadership level must be deified'. Why shouldn't every young worker, who is considered the rising star of tomorrow, the carrier of change, and the image of the future, have a clear vision and dissent from the conservative, greedy, selfish leadership or such factions within the party? Why not oppose the monopoly within the party? Why not rebel if necessary against inequality of opportunity?
Therefore, in the context of the upcoming elections, it is necessary to uproot the withered, withered branches and if any thorns have sprouted somewhere, it is necessary. In this way, by pruning them and fertilizing them for new growth, the young generation must take the important responsibility and initiative to 'convince' the voters to make the country green.
It is necessary for the general voters and civil society to understand the pressure of time and support the young generation. While in previous elections, the party and the candidate were put to the test, now the voters themselves are being put to the test.
