While the country is moving ahead with the elections, the UML, as a political party, should support it as much as possible, by building a powerful squad, increasing the possibility of a clash. UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the 'National Volunteer Force' has to be formed for security. In reality, this force has strengthened the basis for increasing political conflict and creating fear in the society, leading to increased insecurity.

Because, the country and society always seek political behavior, ideological and theoretical discussion from political parties and their organizations. UML's 'Force' does not ensure that. Such declarations and commitments have not even been made public. The activities of many such organizations in the past have been established as examples to say that this is basically an organization that does 'hahahuhu' based on arm strength. Such initiative and message are not at all suitable for a party like UML, which has led the government many times and has been part of the democratic movement. The UML ranks and basically the leadership should be serious about the critical reactions coming after the announcement of the 'National Volunteer Force'.

UML announced the central command of the 'National Volunteer Force' on Friday. The question of the justification of such an organization is being put aside, no auspicious sign has been given through the selection of the commander of the 'Force'. Because the central command chief of the 'Force', Pushparaj Shrestha, is a multiple accused in criminal cases. According to the police's 'Criminal Record System' (CRS), 7 cases have been registered against him from 2065 to 2075.

He is accused of murder, public offense, kidnapping/hostage, and robbery by taking hostage. It cannot be assumed that a person accused of such charges will be able to show positive hope for politics. Nor do the people want the influence and influence of people like him to be established in politics. But the UML chose him, through which it seems that it does not want to give an ideological and theoretical rhythm to politics at this time. It also does not seem to want the value of political competition to be established. Rather, it seems that it expects that whatever happens, will happen through mob action. This is a misfortune of Nepali politics.

At the 'Force' announcement program on Friday, UML Chairman Oli said that he has formed such an organization to protect national interests and the lives and property of the people. First, it is not clear what the roadmap is for the 'Force' to do so. Secondly, it is a pitiful situation in itself to see Oli forced to form a party-based force to protect national interests and people's lives and property just two months after he left power.

This raises the question - to what abyss has Oli, a three-decade power player and four-time Prime Minister, contributed to bringing the state to a point where the regular structure cannot do that job? Does he not have faith in the regular institutions of the state? If not, shouldn't he publicly apologize for contributing to the lack of reliable regular institutions left? On the other hand, the activities of the Bahubali organization have been criticized in the past.

Be it the YCL or the Youth Force of the past, they were notorious for taking the law into their own hands, intimidating individuals and organizations, and beating them up whenever possible. They used to push politics towards criminalization. They were always seen as a challenge to the peace and security of the state. The main focus of the security organs should have been to monitor the activities of such organizations. What is the basis for saying that the 'National Volunteer Force' is not the 'updated version' of the same YCL and Youth Force?

After the arrival of Gen-G in the country's political leadership after 23 and 24 Bhadra, Oli has had to feel an internal challenge because he has reached outside the arena of power. Through Oli, the entire UML has also been infected with such a challenge. But the way to get rid of this is purification within the party. It is coordination between theory and practice.

It is the initiative to communicate with the people. A controversial organization has been born without thinking about that. A party that formulates a strategy to gain power under the guise of a powerful squad without thinking about its own internal purification, principles and ideas, and communication with the people is also a worrying situation for the party concerned. The UML leadership should think - the 'National Volunteer Force' cannot give power to a party that 'Jabaj' has not been able to give power to. It should not be given. Pushparaj Shrestha's direction from the stage with Madan Bhandari's banner in the background looks and sounds politically clumsy.

The formation of the ‘National Volunteer Force’ does not provide a solution to the current political problems. Because the main desire of the country is good governance. Action against the corrupt. Action against the culprits of 23 and 24 Bhadra. Elections. ‘Force’ is not involved in these issues. Rather, it is likely that conflicts will increase, tensions will be created, and the morale of the security forces will further decline.

Since there is still anger that Oli was forced out of power due to Gen-G, ‘Force’ may have the intention of clashing with them. The aggressive statements and insults targeted at Gen-G by responsible leaders of the UML have strengthened such a possibility. In that situation, the state’s energy will be spent on managing it, so the main issue may be overlooked.

Political parties should train their cadres in political terms. They should teach ideas and principles. They should teach political competition. They should make them prioritize the use of ideas and discretion. But the formation of such ‘forces’ does not evaluate the youth as ideological and principled political figures, but only as strong arms.

It expects the youth to be able to make noise among the opponents, to be able to beat them, to threaten and chase them away. It indirectly tells the youth – you are a mahubali, you have no conscience, no brain, you only have arms. This is actually an insult to your own cadres. It is an abuse of the youth class who are close to the party on the basis of faith. Those who participate in such organizations themselves should not feel proud, but humiliated. Instead, they should search for a ‘space’ to use it by saying that they have political conscience.
