Let's not burst crackers, let's make sweets health-friendly

Loud noises can weaken the inner ear nerve so that it cannot return, or they can rupture the eardrum, which can be repaired either spontaneously or with surgery. This can cause permanent or temporary tinnitus. Noise levels above 50 decibels are harmful to the ears and health, while noise levels above 125 decibels can damage the eardrum and cause hearing loss.

What you should know

Festivals like Tihar, Nyundaya Bhintuna, Chhath and others are beloved by Nepalis. The brighter and cleaner the sweets, the more beautiful and delicious the festival becomes. The belief that Lakshmi is happy is the reason why cleanliness, glittering and colorful sweets are given importance.

Crackers, which are consumed excessively during Diwali, Tihar and Chhath, have innumerable negative aspects. Most of the victims are women, children under the age of 18, and especially in Madhesh. Crackers have one effect of sound and another of explosion or blast.

The sharp sound can weaken the inner ear nerve so that it cannot be recovered, while the explosion can rupture the eardrum, which can be cured on its own or through surgery. This can cause permanent or temporary ringing in the ears. Noise above 50 decibels is harmful to the ears and health, while noise above 125 decibels damages the eardrum and can cause hearing loss.

Harmful pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, cadmium, lead, copper, manganese, sodium, sulfur, magnesium, potassium, etc. in crackers cause respiratory problems such as bronchitis. Those with respiratory and asthma problems should avoid smoke. Children are sensitive. Therefore, the noise emitted when crackers burst, harmful pollutants, and gunpowder particles spread, can cause difficulty breathing for some time in children, and dry eyes and noses. Fireworks and crackers not only cause fires but can also cause eye injuries, torn eyelids, vision loss, heart attacks, blood pressure, asthma, skin, respiratory, nasal allergies, bronchitis, pneumonia, torn eardrums, ringing in the ears, hearing loss, burning hands and feet, headaches, insomnia, and sometimes even death.

Gulia sweets

During festivals, more attention is focused on food and lifestyles become irregular. We make the way we celebrate festivals unhealthy and go through various health problems. Such as triglycerides, uric acid, sugar, high blood pressure.

Sweet foods have the highest place in the festival, sugar is sweet, everyone likes it, but sugar does not provide any benefit except giving instant energy and is not suitable for health. Sweets weaken white blood cells. Since the chemical structure of glucose is similar to vitamin C, when glucose increases in the blood, it stays in the cells, which on the one hand leads to a deficiency of vitamin C and a decrease in the ability to fight disease, while on the other hand, increases insulin, reduces the production of growth hormone and reduces immunity.

Insulin increases the amount of triglycerides in the body, stores fat, which can lead to cardiovascular diseases and high blood pressure. Those who eat sugar or sweet dishes a lot or frequently experience problems such as early satiety, obesity, and decreased mineral accumulation and storage.

Dental problems are seen in infants. Excessive sugar consumption causes problems ranging from decreased mental concentration, irritability and depression to negative effects on the kidneys, swelling of the body, stomach problems, bone erosion, headaches, and migration. Nowadays, the use of saccharin, a chemical 500 times sweeter than sugar, is increasing in order to raise food awareness and reduce the risk of chronic diseases. It is said that 50 grams of saccharin, available for a few rupees, has the effect of 30 kg of sugar. Meat also causes various diseases, making the body as well as the mind unhealthy. Meat is also consumed more during festivals.

Colorful sweets

Inedible sweets continue to have a long-term effect on the body. On the one hand, road smoke and dust contaminate sweets, on the other hand, flies and insects poison and infect them.

Any dish is first seen with the eyes and if it tastes good, the tongue licks and the mouth salivates. This is especially true of colorful sweets. When buying, the senses of the eyes ask, ‘Eat this’ and we buy it. The eyes know whether it is suitable or not, the tongue knows the taste, but the body knows the purity and quality later. Although Holi is the festival of colors, color is most discussed during Tihar.

Death does not have a color, but there is definitely a reason for death. We are all not unaware of the benefits of consuming fresh vegetables and fruits daily, but the various colors added to them are becoming a factor in human death.

Eating foods containing various types of colors – Simrik, Sindoor, Abir, Neer, Rhodamine B, Brilliant Green, Malachite Green, Metalin Yellow, Orange, G Naphthol, Yellow S, Auramine, Keshari and Champarang and large amounts of food colors such as carotene, annatto, vicinal, carnen, brown sugar, etc. and additives and preservatives can cause direct harm in some cases, and sometimes have long-term effects on health.

The use of colored or contaminated ghee and oil poisons blood cells, increasing the problem of low blood in the body, and the ability to fight disease decreases. Internal soft organs such as the liver, heart, and kidneys become weak. The possibility of cancer increases. There is a strong possibility of skin diseases. Infertility may occur, eyes and ears may be weak. Children may be lame, lame, tumors, and cancer may occur. Masculinity may be destroyed, wounds may appear in the kidneys and liver, and chronic diseases may appear on the skin.

Strict government rules, laws, monitoring, and control are necessary to prevent the use of dangerous colors, chemicals, and drugs in food and black marketing, without considering human sensitivity. Consumers should also be aware. As long as consumers are not aware, food poisoning and black marketing will increase.
