Through effective dialogue between all parties, let us develop the current politics of hatred, anger and revenge into the politics of respect, tolerance, brotherhood and coexistence. This will not only create an environment for immediate elections, but will also make the journey of rebuilding the country easier and more effective.

The changing environment of the country has created a compulsion to participate in the elections in February 2082 for the political parties who are conducting the campaign called 'Mission 84'. The movement of Gen-G against corruption and social media ban has replaced the government led by Congress and UML, an interim government has been formed under the leadership of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, and the House of Representatives has been dissolved. The main mandate of this government is to hold elections on February 21.
When the so-called peaceful movement turned violent, not only was there a huge loss of human wealth, but the constitution built by Nepali people after decades of struggle and sacrifice was also attacked. The incident that Amnepali did not even imagine has created a threat to the federal democratic republic system. In such an unstable and fluid political environment, there is a risk that domestic/foreign elements will play, the Nepali people will lose all the achievements they have achieved so far and the country will enter a dark tunnel.
Agitators, government, political parties and civil society should be able to get out of the country trapped in such a serious and complicated situation very responsibly. Elections are the only way out of this. Although some parties have talked about restoring the House of Representatives, the proper way out of the current impasse is the election. However, it is mandatory to hold the election on the appointed date in a free, fair, transparent and fearless environment. For this, first of all, it is necessary to create an election atmosphere through effective all-party communication and dialogue.
Jen-Ji's demands and elections
The achievements of the Jen-Ji movement are the removal of the old parties from power and the formation of an interim government according to Jen-Ji's wishes, the end of corruption becoming a national issue, and the discussion of transformation with leadership change in all parties. However, elections are the main way to institutionalize the demands of Gen-G in a sustainable manner and make the people feel the change. Through the
election, there will be an opportunity to select new people's representatives who are responsible to the people, committed to good governance, amend the constitution according to their own preferences by bringing two-thirds of the vote, and make radical changes in the country. In order not to lose the achievements gained from the movement, as much as there is a need for elections, it is also mandatory for Gen-J to show leadership in creating an environment for elections. After the
movement, an interim government was formed and the parliament was dissolved. This step seems to have been accepted by all the parties in the condition that the country will get out of the serious crisis caused by the movement. However, it is yet to be constitutionally and judicially tested. It is difficult to predict when this kind of constitutional, legal, political crisis and the instability, confusion and fluidity it creates will happen. There is also a possibility that
will attack the country's nationality and cause more conflict. Therefore, it is necessary for the gen-jis to be very responsible to complete the task of handing over the power to the constitutional government by conducting elections at the appointed time and returning the country to the constitutional and democratic direction from the current transition period. Remember, if the Katham elections are not held due to Jen-Ji's ferocity, revenge and small carelessness, there will be a danger of more complicated problems than now and the blame will fall on Jen-Ji.
election environment
In a democracy, the people's vote is the most important thing, so the parties cannot take the matter of taking a new public opinion through the election. However, a reliable environment is essential for this. The Nepalese mind is still disturbed by the huge human loss caused by the use of excessive force by the security personnel in the Gen-G movement on August 23 and the destruction done by local and foreign regressive and criminal elements in the name of Gen-G during the demonstration on 24.
From the Rashtrapati Bhawan, which is a symbol of national unity, to the Parliament Building, which is a symbol of the country's heritage, history and pride, to the Lion Court, the Supreme Court, many government buildings, police offices, industrial and commercial buildings, political party offices and leaders' houses were burnt to ashes. Vandalism, arson, looting and beatings by the criminal mob under the guise of Gen-G have caused great fear, panic and fear in the people of Amnepali. The mental impact of the terrible accident, which is not in the history of Nepal, has not diminished. How will the people be ready to vote without being freed from such mental effects?
Parties that are vital parts of democracy are now vulnerable themselves. How can they participate in the elections if they do not have an environment to do their regular political work and express themselves openly? How can they safely present their candidates to the public and keep their points in the election? The way the party leaders are now under pressure with anger and vengeance, it is difficult to lead the parties towards elections.
Also, during elections around the world, the empire of false and misleading news and hateful expressions spread through social media, by stimulating the atmosphere, the election atmosphere itself deteriorates. The fact that AI is causing turmoil in elections is also being discussed. In the context that even developed countries are affected by this, it is natural that a backward society like Nepal, which is very less developed and has a weak level of consciousness, will be affected.
Even the political environment after the Gen-G movement, the accusations and hate speech against the party and its leaders seems to complicate the problem further. Since there is no concrete law on social media regulation in Nepal, it seems that it will be difficult to control false and misleading information and hate speech in the current critical situation. In such an environment, it is very challenging to prepare the election environment and conduct the election peacefully.
The Election Commission has stated that usually 120 days are required for election preparation. Considering the date of February 21 announced by the government, this time is sufficient. However, the facts analyzed above make it very challenging to hold elections in the current political environment. Therefore, if the election is to be held on the specified date, the creation of an environment of political trust is a must and the first condition for the election.
There is a need to bridge the communication gap between the government and the parties, prepare the environment for them to enter the electoral process and ease the situation by bringing back the rhythm of the panic-stricken society. For this, it is necessary for the government and the Election Commission to communicate continuously with all stakeholders. In addition to this, an atmosphere of peace and security can gradually be created with the process of returning stolen weapons, returning escaped prisoners to jail, raising the morale of the police and taking legal action against the culprits. It seems that the government should act fast.
The government should work to remove the hurdles in the electoral law that are necessary for the conduct of elections. Now the President and the Prime Minister have discussed with the parties and invited them to participate in the election and issued an ordinance regarding the compilation of the voter list. Now it is necessary for the government and the Election Commission to have an effective dialogue and cooperation with the parties to prepare an environment to participate in the election peacefully by working on the code of conduct, election schedule, voter education.
Elections and participation of parties at the appointed time
The political environment in which Nepalese society is now, the way political parties are raising questions on the constitutional and legal validity of this government and preparing to raise the issue of restoration of the House of Representatives, as the government has accused of bias, it is doubtful that the election will be held on the appointed date.
Although the parties seem to be positive about the election, they have not formally informed whether or not they will participate in the election. In such an environment, the role played by the government and the protestors seems to determine the future journey of the parties. Therefore, it is necessary for the government to be serious about making the parties participate in the election process. The government should ensure the normalization of the society that has been silenced by the loss of people's wealth, destruction, anarchy and looting, maintaining harmony and tolerance and guaranteeing peace and security in the society including political parties. As the parties start conducting their regular political activities, the electoral environment will gradually be prepared.
In a democracy, political parties are an integral part of the state. The parties send their representatives to the parliament and the government. The parties will govern by electing representatives from the people's votes. The people will vote based on how much the parties have implemented the promises they made to the people and what kind of vision they present for the coming days. The sovereign people re-elect the representatives of the party who have done good work and punish the leaders who have not done so. This is an important feature of democracy where the people are sovereign.
Although there is disagreement on the formation of the current government and political developments, all political parties have indicated that they will participate in the elections to get the country out of the current serious crisis. From this point, it is necessary for the government and the Election Commission to engage in effective communication and cooperation with the parties to take them into confidence and to take the country on the road to the election without delay in creating a positive environment. Similarly, the parties need to answer all the questions raised by the young generation and the common people and give them a comprehensive transformation through elections. The parties have to create a plan to enter the elections with new thinking, ideas, working style and commitment.
The election that is going to be held in a very difficult and extraordinary situation is standing on the line of life and death of the country, democracy, republic and constitution. When the elections are held on the specified date, the entire country will win along with Jen-Ji and the country will take a step forward. If Kathamkadachi elections are not held, then the entire country will lose along with Jen-G and all the contributions, sacrifices and achievements so far will turn into ashes like Singha Darbar. It was not possible to save the Singha Darbar from turning into ashes, now let's take responsibility to save the rest of the country. Through effective dialogue between all parties, let us develop the current politics of hatred, anger and revenge into the politics of respect, tolerance, brotherhood and coexistence. This will not only create an environment for immediate elections, but will also make the journey of country reconstruction easy and effective.
We have the experience of successfully conducting elections in the past during the Maoist conflict, the terror of armed groups in the Terai, and when ethnic, regional and religious extremism was rampant in the country. This time too, taking lessons from the experience of the past, it is necessary for all parties to conduct elections in a free, fair and fearless environment with the determination to move the country forward in the journey of progressive inclusive democracy. Its specific responsibility rests on the shoulders of Gen-G and the younger generation who have advanced through the movement.
