Youth Discontent and Movement

Instead of an atmosphere of repression and confrontation, an atmosphere of hope, trust and faith is needed and the youth should be led to organize towards it. Because compared to others, the courage to take risks is doubled in youth.

Today's youth is a state of disillusioned rage. Social discontent is an expression of collective disillusionment, anger, and frustration with a group, community, or society. If there is dissatisfaction among the students of the campus, it is in collective matters like student admission (examination), curriculum, examination system, extracurricular activities, student representation in the educational system and it manifests in various forms.

Youth discontent is an expression of collective frustration in society by the youth. Their disenchantment seems to necessitate breaking down the established norms. It is of two types: problem oriented and value oriented. Students protest for the removal of the vice-chancellor of the university but do not fight for changes in the vice-chancellor selection system.

fights for the postponement of the exam but does not agitate for the restructuring of the exam system. By disrespecting teachers and professors, misbehaving with female classmates, damaging campus property, they show their lack of interest in the goals of the educational institution.

The purpose of the youth movement is to draw the attention of the ruling party to the existing injustices and injustices, to make them aware, to influence them, to excite them, to disturb them and to disturb them. There are youth movements in the form of demonstrations, sloganeering, strikes, hunger strikes, roadblocks, sieges and examinations, class boycotts. Law enforcement agencies such as courts and police are not trusted by protesters and the presence of police can be counterproductive.

Young agitators who have 'taken the law into their hands' think that there should be speedy justice. When a crowd member loses his individual identity and becomes a part of the crowd, his identity flows into the crowd and he has no fear of being arrested for criminal acts committed by the crowd. Law enforcement agencies also find it difficult to determine who is responsible for mob crimes. In such cases, only emotional appeals, not logic or intelligence, influence the agitator.

Youth protest, agitation and agitation is an expression of rejection of ideas, behavior and policies, which one is powerless to stop or prevent. It is not a direct action, but a way of expressing dissatisfaction. It is an expression of hatred against injustice. What can be said after observing the agitations and frustrations of the youth in different parts of the country is that most of the youth have become so depressed and pessimistic because the policies and programs of the government from decades ago do not show any improvement in the standard of living of the common people for many decades to come.

When most of the country's youth are not only pessimistic about their future and security, but also about the country's economic future and social progress, can the exciting movement of the youth be stopped and suppressed? If there is a crack in the country's economic needs and educational system, the youth will feel insecure about the future. Lack of harmony between educational system, student's aspirations and achievements has a psychological effect on students. Despite getting good marks, not being able to study the chosen subject increases the frustration of the students. The political intervention that incites the students to protest and quells the protest before it ends is another reason for increasing frustration among the youth.

Not all people are satisfied with the existing status in society. The society needs a youth who is enlightened in learning, proficient in technical knowledge and politically mature. A typical youth is individualistic, imaginative and competitive. All he needs is guidance to control his zeal and enthusiasm. He should be taught how to express his displeasure, anger and complaints, find a way out, and provide means. Young people should be given opportunities for harmless emotional expression. There is a movement to convince others that the problem exists, to initiate action to improve the situation, and to resolve the tragic situation and its cause.

According to the World Health Organization, the percentage of young people under the age of 25 in the current world population is the highest in human civilization. Out of the 7.2 billion world population, there are 3 billion youth under the age of 25 and this is 42 percent. During this period of life, social skills and behaviors are developed to transform into an independent person, start new relationships and continue throughout life.

Youth need education, employment and entrepreneurship. The moral values, ethos and family background of the youth also determine the nature of the movement. Poverty, social exclusion, not being able to arouse enough interest in studies, lack of close and satisfactory relationship with their parents, or those who have left home and family for study or employment and live elsewhere, take part in provocative movements to fill the void in their lives.

It is now time to use this vast youth power, which has been neglected so far, for development and to remove social injustice, to achieve national collective goals. Instead of an atmosphere of oppression and confrontation, an atmosphere of hope, trust and faith is needed and the youth should be led to organize towards this. Because compared to others, the courage to take risks is doubled in youth.

Today Nepali society is looking for new faces. In the last election, the desire of voters towards young and new candidates was revealed. About 40 percent of local government representatives have been elected by youth under the age of 40. Sattasin should show sensitivity towards youth problems and help to find a rational solution. Even the law enforcement agencies should not delay understanding the youth psychology rather than suppressing the youth movement.
