Roadmap after turmoil

Now there is a state of public trust towards major parties. Restoring that public trust should be his first priority. For which, the transfer of leadership should be the first agenda. Even now, the second and third generation of the party should not assume leadership by persuasion or persuasion, but they should be able to dare to take leadership by rebelling.

In Nepali political discussion, the Greek ancient myth - the bird 'Phoenix' is in discussion. Using this talismanic charo as a metaphor, the author/leader/analyst suggests that the major parties become 'phoenixes'. According to the myth, the phoenix, with its beautiful body, is consumed by fire and has the amazing ability to revive itself.

Big parties like Congress, UML, Maoists who have contributed significantly to the democratic movement of Nepal are currently at risk of dissolution. These parties are standing at such a juncture in history, where there are only two paths before them. First, to embark on a new journey through rebellion and reorganization. Second, the status quo and progress towards dissolution.

ie parties that are burning to ashes will be revived with a new body like a 'phoenix' bird? Will he have the ability to purify himself from the undemocratic/apolitical character, many distortions and pollution in the true sense?

After the extreme erosion of democratic value system and culture within the parties, it is not that such a question has not been raised before. However, this year the density of this question is much stronger than in the past. That is because, the question is raised in the light of Generation Z ie Gen-G movement.

The Gen-G movement that happened a month ago has brought upheaval in the country's politics. With the emergence of Gen-G as an 'abstract power' in Nepali politics, major parties have become defensive. In this perspective, there is an interest in how the role of the parties will increase in the future, while the role of the interim government, the fate of the suddenly emerging gen-jis has also become a matter of interest everywhere.

The disillusionment with the old and traditional leadership has been broken but who will take that place, the parties themselves will be revived or other 'actors' will come, the scenario is not clear. After the upheaval there is a kind of hope along with confusion. Demands for change have been raised but what kind of change, what change there is no clear roadmap.

so that there is a fear that the transitional complexity will increase in the future. It is imperative that key stakeholders are clear on the roadmap with their roles so that this transition does not become more complicated. In order to avoid further political/constitutional/material damage, there is a need for dialogue and cooperation between the major political parties, the interim government and the Gen-G activists focusing on the elections.

is not dissolution, reorganization

Parties that cannot establish their legitimacy and legitimacy are not approved by the public and dissolve. This is eternal truth. An example of this is the fact that Praja Parishad, which fought against the Haikam of the Tsarshahi Rana regime, was not found at this time.

However, the existence and role of parties in a multiparty democratic system is inevitable. At this time, all the old and big parties have completely lost their justification? Are other political forces ready to displace those parties? Not both. Instead, political parties have got an opportunity to reform themselves and give new life due to the push of Gen-G movement.

parties practiced partisanship or, more precisely, limited oligarchy under the guise of a democratic system. He saw everything but power as illusion. His activities were not motivated by political ideas or principles. Instead, they resorted only to arithmetic for power. They did not see any political program or policy closeness. Forming a government on the strength of mathematics, distributing shares, choosing good people, only our people will get a place, they have introduced the distortion of determining the rate of appointment.

governance was limited to speeches and slogans. The leader who loudly said that he will not do corruption is the most drowned in its situation. The leader talked about handing over the leadership for media consumption, but kept on saying that he would not leave the leadership until his death. The public's usefulness to him was limited to elections.

He kept narrow minded that people are empty voters and kept 'treating' them accordingly. They were so engrossed with the pride of power and power that they could not see the anger that was growing against them. He was engrossed in the devotional songs of his close friends. In the end, public anger erupted and that anger has brought not only a few leaders, but the entire political party and leadership to the court of examination.

Unfortunately, the leadership and cadres of the party are still not aware. Congress General Minister Gagan Thapa and Vishwaprakash Sharma have raised the issue of leadership transfer. They have started a signature collection campaign for the special convention. However, there is no haste, no restlessness in the Congress for the change of leadership, which has become mandatory after such an accident.

The UMLs are busy worshiping the 'throne' of Oli, who was driven from Baluwatar and reached Gundu. Oli has made the voice of leadership change that has arisen in a small way unheard. Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has assessed the situation and tried to dispel the illusion that he heard the voice of change by dissolving the Central Committee. But, everyone understands, this is only a phenomenon that will continue under his leadership. RSVP, which has emerged as an alternative political party, is facing a premature demise after being held hostage by a leader.

Despite these disappointing pictures, the country's main priority right now is to return the democratic system back to normal. For that, election at the appointed time is a mandatory condition. And, party participation is another imperative for elections. Comprehensive reform and reorganization within the parties before going to the polls is the urgent demand of this time.

Moreover, in order to attract the Gen-G generation, it should be reorganized so that this generation also has a significant participation in the leadership.

To strengthen internal democracy, the method of selecting leaders based on ideas should be adopted. We should end factionalism and job system, adopt institutional accountability, zero tolerance policy against corruption, take action against the corrupt within the party, shirk responsibility, abandon favoritism and move towards promoting politics based on democratic value system. At the center of all this should be elections. However, it is not a strategy to win elections, but a strategy to win public trust should be decided.

The landing of Gen-G excitement

The role of Gen-G is equally important in securing elections. However, this group does not have a fixed organizational size. If the representative people of this age group form a party in the name of Jen-ji tomorrow, then it will take a shape.

At this time, Gen-Ji has become a force, standing on the foundation of anger towards party leadership, which is becoming indolent. Some characters are directly or indirectly exercising that power. In the dissolution of parliament and the formation of the interim government, Balen Shah, the mayor of Kathmandu metropolis, 38-year-old Sudan Gurung, who emerged as a Gen-G activist in the formation of the cabinet, some other faces seem to have played a role in this exercise of power.

There are also different trends within these representative faces. Some people want the direct election of the Chief Executive now. He does not care about basic politics like how the country is run, what is the importance of the constitution etc. His whimsical and passionate expressions have become the spice of media's 'TRP' increase, which has awakened his fascination with power.

These dubious characters who became celebrities overnight seem to have caught the sky. This kind of provocation can become a hurdle in the electoral path of the interim government. Representatives of another type of Gen-G seem to be sensible and prudent. They are aware of democratic system and values. They are aware that the country should not go into further crisis. Which of these two trends will dominate will also influence the electoral roadmap. That is, the sitting of Gen-G stimulation is necessary.  As for the

, since the violent activities under the cover of Gen-G, the determination of the movement has raised doubts. Was the street demonstration by the Zen-G group rebellion or sabotage? Revolution or counter-revolution? Spontaneous or intrusive? The questions are still alive. With the passage of time, as the veils are opened, its reality will be revealed. However, the truth of the moment is that there is both hope and attraction in the society towards gen-jis.

Humans are innately curious creatures. Because of that inquisitive nature, people are more attracted to what new things will be like. New things also bring hope for change. A new idea, technology, icon or movement brings a kind of freshness to a society that is sick or tired of the old. This is the reason for the attraction or craze towards Zen-G in Nepal. Whether Gen-Ji can sustain this hope and attraction will depend on her role. If the actors seen on the surface can turn themselves into 'political actors' helping the electoral agenda, that will be positive.

Arjunadrishti election

The main stakeholder of the changed politics is the interim government. Its only agenda is and should be elections. However, regular administration is the daily routine of the government. In addition, the role of the government increases when natural disasters occur in the country. Because the government is the guardian of the people. During the two-three days of incessant rain, the interim government took precautions by taking precautions, and the people felt that they had guardianship. Due to the careful activism shown by the government, the damage was minimized.

What the government has done in disaster management has been so successful. However, the success of the interim government will not be measured only by the day-to-day administrative work or the management of such disasters. There will be two main bases for measuring the success of this government. First, it can hold elections on time, that will be the first basis.

The important responsibility of returning the country to constitutional and political rights rests on the shoulders of the government. Therefore, the vision of this government should be focused on elections. Prime Minister Sushila Karki has also said that she will focus on the election in her address to the countrymen. She made it clear that the demand for the election of the direct executive now raised in the streets does not fall within her scope and limits and has asked the elected parliament to amend the arrangements in the constitution regarding the form of government by participating in the election.

But, will the elections be easy at the scheduled time? This question is asked everywhere with suspicion. The government has proceeded with the work of revising the voter list through an ordinance. However, other arrangements for election preparation are still to be made. Regular election arrangements like registration of new parties, updating of old ones are to be done. Bringing the parties into dialogue is to ensure elections.

Gen-G generation will have to be led on the electoral path by taming the excitement. Even though Prime Minister Karki clarified the electoral thinking and limits of the interim government, various representatives of Gen-G have not given up their demand for the direct election of the executive. On the other hand, the old political parties are waiting for a favorable time to seek a constitutional resolution for the restoration of the parliament and to raise the issue from the streets as well. It will be the government's responsibility to take both these types into confidence and lead them to the elections.

Second, the government has certain expectations of the people. Like, ending impunity, guaranteeing peace and security in the country and giving the feeling that good governance has been established. The repression of August 23 and the chaos of August 24 are events of two different characters. They must be viewed through two different lenses. And, it is the government's responsibility to bring out the truth of both of them. Similarly, after 2046, there is a widespread demand to investigate the assets of high-ranking employees/leaders who hold positions of profit and punish the corrupt. The government should be able to take these two agendas together with the election preparations.

The government, which has been praised for being active in disaster management, has also been criticized for trying to condone impunity. The criticism came after the Ministry of Home Affairs barred the police from investigating the chaos and destruction that took place on August 24. Home Minister Omprakash Aryal was heavily criticized on the internet after the Ministry of Home Affairs said through a press release on October 9 that since the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Commission of Inquiry, immediate action will not be taken through the regular mechanisms of the government.

Similarly, questions have started to arise regarding the impartiality of the high-level investigation committee led by Gauri Bahadur Karki. Against this backdrop, elections and ending impunity should be the main roadmap of the government. In essence, the government should be able to take both political parties and gen-ji into confidence to overcome the post-upheaval confusion.
