Positive data for electric vehicles

Consumers and businessmen say that the price of electric vehicles in Nepal is still expensive compared to other countries. So the user should take the policy to get the facility. The more features a user gets, the more attractive they become. This topic should be understood from the producer to the local seller.

At present, the service has stopped and as a dilapidated remnant, a trolley bus is stored in the Transport Management Department at Meen Bhavan. Even though the trolleybus running from Tripureshwar in Kathmandu to Suryavinayak in Bhaktapur since 2032 has become a 'past' in itself, the 'future' it points to is proving to be true.

In principle, everyone agrees that electric vehicles are useful from the point of view of human health and the health of the earth, and its use should be increased. The data shows that Nepal is getting significant success in its obligation to turn it into a practical achievement.

In the last three financial years, it seems that the import of electric vehicles is increasing faster than diesel-petrol private four-wheelers. In the financial year 2081/82, the import of private four-wheeled electric vehicles has reached 73 percent. The government should adopt policies that expand such data from two-wheelers for private use to large vehicles for public purposes.

Due to the widespread use of petrol and diesel, the temperature of the earth is increasing day by day. It is causing massive changes in the climate. Which is one of the major issues in the world today. It is the experience of every year that cities including Kathmandu sometimes become the most polluted cities in the world and citizens have to be warned not to go out of their homes without essential work.

The use of alternative energy is necessary because the fumes emitted from petrol and diesel are contributing to the increase in pollution. Electric vehicles are a viable option. And Nepal's success in that is something to be proud of. In the financial year 2076/77, when a total of 10,994 private four-wheelers were imported, the percentage of electric vehicles was only 5 percent. But after five years it reached 73 percent.

The increasing use of electric vehicles has many dimensions that directly and indirectly benefit from people to the planet. Mainly it helps in reducing environmental pollution. Smoke pollution will be reduced, noise pollution will also be comparatively less. This will have a positive impact on human health, and will also slow down global warming.

However, this is not an achievement achieved by one person or group driving an electric vehicle. For this, human behavior should generally be oriented towards renewable energy. Similarly, consumers will benefit as vehicle purchase to operating costs will be comparatively lower. For Nepal, which is increasing the production of hydroelectricity but importing petroleum products, increasing the use of electric vehicles will contribute to reducing the trade deficit.

In the financial year 2081/82, goods worth 18 trillion 4 billion 12 billion have been imported. Of that, diesel/petrol worth 1 trillion 92 billion 86 crores was imported the most. Thus, diesel/petrol, which accounts for more than 10 percent of total imports, is mainly used by vehicles and emits fumes. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the import and consumption. Electric vehicles that use electricity produced in Nepal are helpful for that.

In order to consume domestically produced clean energy and reduce environmental pollution, the government has been taking a policy to promote electric vehicles. The increasing number of electric vehicles is the result of that policy. The government has been giving concessions from importing vehicles to setting up charging stations.

The government should be convinced to make its policies consumer-friendly and stable. As this year the government did not change the customs rate. However, according to the proportion in which electric four-wheelers are being imported for private purposes, the import of two-wheelers and large public electric vehicles has not increased significantly. The government should take initiative in this direction.

Compared to other countries, consumers and businessmen say that the price of electric vehicles in Nepal is still expensive. So the user should take the policy to get the facility. The more features a user gets, the more attractive they become. This topic should be understood from the producer to the local seller. Currently, the challenge of electric vehicles is the charging station.

The government should encourage it to be widespread. It would be beneficial if the producers could also be involved in this work. Mainly, the growing attraction towards electric vehicles should be made sustainable. Since many new brands are coming in the market, consumers need to be aware while purchasing.

Since new technology is used in new products, you should be able to choose the brand carefully. In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to aspects such as the status of continuity of the respective brand, the experience of people from other countries.
