The picture published in Kantipur on Baisakh 5 shows how cruel terrorism is and that it has no limits. That photo was of Mahmoud Azour, a 9-year-old Palestinian boy who lost both his hands in a bomb blast while fleeing after Israel launched an airstrike on the Gaza Strip in March 2024.

As he was fleeing after the airstrikes started, he was hit by an explosion while going to pick up his parents who had left behind to come forward. One of his hands was cut off in the explosion and the other hand was amputated in the hospital after it became useless. When he regained consciousness, he found that both of his hands were missing . Then he said to his mother, 'Mother! Now how can I hug you ?' As a mother, when I saw that picture and read these words of that child, my heart sank, my heart sank. In the morning, with tears in his eyes, my husband put the newspaper on the kitchen table and said, "I can't tell you, read the war news yourself!" Most mornings, while I was working in the kitchen, he used to read the news from the newspaper himself. 

This photo taken by Palestinian photographer Samar Abu Elouf has been declared 'World Press Photo of the Year'. This is just an example. On 7 October 2023, after Hamas terrorists attacked Israel and killed innocent civilians, Israel has continued to carry out massacres in Gaza, and by the time this article was prepared, more than 53,000 people had died and over 120,000 were injured. Most of the dead and injured are women and children. On that day, Hamas terrorists killed 1,200 people and took 240 hostages. A Nepali student was also injured in the attack and the condition of Bipin Joshi among them is still unknown. 

Since then, Israel is not only destroying Gaza with continuous airstrikes asking for the release of hostages, it is also continuously killing innocent Palestinian citizens . The condition of the injured is very pathetic . Schools and hospitals have been bombed under the pretext of hiding terrorists. The sight of children sitting in the ruins of their houses and crying cannot be seen . Children running away crying from the horror of the attack, Palestinian parents crying in their arms holding wounded and dead children, Palestinian children starving after Israel's blockade, have not bothered the United Nations, nor have they touched the all-powerful US President Donald Trump, who says "I don't like war, I want peace in the world". 

At the moment, Trump seems to be giving anti-war expressions. Having himself turned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky against Russia and destroyed Ukraine, he is now willing to mediate a ceasefire with the desire to get his hands on its precious minerals. But he is not at all interested in the massacre of Gaza and Israel's crimes against humanity. Although terrorism is not acceptable to anyone, but saying that, treating all Palestinians as terrorists and killing them is not fair. Before trying to annihilate the existence of the Palestinians, the Israelis should have remembered how Hitler massacred the Jews from Germany and how the Jews fled to save their existence and occupied Israel. Isn't the pain inflicted by Hitler on the Jews in World War II and the pain they (Israel) inflict on the Palestinians today? Therefore, for the sake of peace in Gaza, Israel must stop the war with Hamas and the United Nations must intervene for this. And American President Trump, who has the United Nations under his control, must take the initiative in this. 

The world is reeling under the grip of terrorism today. Last April 22, 26 people including a Nepali died in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam of Indian-administered Kashmir. Because of being a Hindu, the son was shot dead in front of the mother and the husband was shot dead in front of the wife. In this attack, Sudeep Neupane of Butwal was also shot dead in front of his mother and wife. Among an Indian couple who had just got married and went to celebrate their honeymoon, the husband was shot and separated in front of his wife. After this brutal terrorist incident, India attacked Pakistan in retaliation and Pakistan attacked India in return. After it was seen that the war between these two countries was going to start, the fear and anxiety of the war also started in Nepal . Because many Nepalese youths have joined the Indian Army and if there is a war, the soldiers who will be deployed in the front line will be the same Nepalis . After going to war, they either kill or be killed. As a result, the situation of crying started among their dependent families and their parents . For some time, the war ended and the Nepalese could breathe a sigh of peace. Terrorism has not left the Nepalese wherever they go. Sometimes in Iraq, innocent youth are made victims of bullets, sometimes in Israel and sometimes in Kashmir . Wherever there is war, the Nepalese youth have been taken by their poverty. So far, 73 Nepali youths have lost their lives in the Russia-Ukraine war.
