Ashish-Samanantar-Religer JV took the overpass contract for 17 crore 6 lakh 88 thousand rupees to be completed within two years from February 2078. It has been contracted under the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) model. In this, the work from design to construction should be done by the contracting company. According to the
contract, the construction of the overpass should be completed by February 12, 2080. But after it was not completed, the deadline was extended for the second time until June 2081. The work was not completed even on that date. Instead, the deadline was extended till December 9, 2081. After the work could not be completed within that time, the work was carried out with a fine from January 10.
So far, the construction progress of the overpass is 82 percent. The work has been stopped for a month. Due to the lack of coordination between the quality, research and development center under the road department and the contracting company, the construction work has been stopped.
