Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has called a meeting of the Central Security Committee at 5 p.m. on Monday evening.
An official from the ministry said the security committee meeting was convened to discuss the tension arising from the clash between two groups in Sunsari.
The Home Minister had also discussed the incident on Monday morning with Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha, IGP Dan Bahadur Karki, Armed Police Force IGP Narayan Dutta Paudel, and others. The ministry has also formed an investigation committee led by Joint Secretary Bhupendra Thapa to probe the Sunsari incident.
In the clash that took place last night in Dewanganj Rural Municipality–3, Captain Ganj, Sunsari, one person was killed by police gunfire and eight protesters were injured.
