The talks held on Sunday between Dr. Govinda KC, who has been on a hunger strike in Dhangadhi for five days, and the government negotiation team ended without a conclusion.
The government team, which had come to Dhangadhi to address Dr. KC's demands, and Dr. KC's representatives held discussions from 12 noon to 11 pm on Sunday. However, as both sides failed to reach an agreement, the 11-hour-long talks did not yield any concrete consensus.

According to Dr. KC's aide Amrit Jaisi, there was no agreement on annulling the appointments of officials at Dasharathchand Health Science University in Geta and on how to determine the seats for private medical colleges.
Dr. Jaisi said, "Legal grounds are being sought regarding the annulment of the officials. Discussions are ongoing on whether to take action against them, remove them from office, or have them resign. Possibly, today's talks will yield a conclusion."
Although the government team appeared positive towards Dr. KC's demands, differences emerged among local people's representatives. While Anand Bahadur Chand, Member of Parliament from Kailali Constituency No. 5, appeared somewhat flexible in the talks, KP Khanal, MP from Constituency No. 2, maintained that the appointments were made following due process and should not be annulled.
However, these MPs are not directly participating in the talks. MP Pukar Bam is coordinating with them. After Sunday's talks ended without a conclusion, it has been decided that talks will resume again today (Monday) from 10 am.
On the third day of the hunger strike, Minister for Education Sasmita Pokharel had stated that the government was ready for talks. Accordingly, Secretary of the Ministry of Education Chudamani Paudel arrived in Dhangadhi on Saturday for the talks.
Prime Minister's Health Advisor Dr. JP Agrawal and Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Bikash Devkota also arrived in Dhangadhi on Sunday for the talks.
