He was taken into custody based on information that he had demanded a bribe from a service recipient for a recommendation from the ward office to close a Permanent Account Number.
According to Commission spokesperson Suresh Nyaupane, he was apprehended at the ward office itself while receiving the bribe. Spokesperson Nyaupane stated that further investigation is underway.
