During a special ceremony organized on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of Tribhuvan University, students staged a protest against Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmita Pokharel.

Minister Pokharel, who is also the Pro-Chancellor of the university and Vice-Chairperson of the University Assembly, was heading to the TU Memorial Building to attend the program when students from the ANNFSU staged a protest with slogans. The students, dissatisfied with the dissolution of the Free Student Union (FSU), protested against Minister Pokharel.

During the protest, they displayed placards with slogans such as "Implement meritocracy" and "Nepobaby Education Minister." After an uneasy situation arose on the university premises, the police team deployed for security took some of the protesting students into custody.
