Mrigendranath Rimal, who had been absconding in connection with insurance and securities-related offenses, has been arrested.
The Central Investigation Bureau of the police arrested him on Thursday from Sifal, Kathmandu.
Rimal, a resident of Kathmandu Metropolitan City–7, was arrested based on complaints filed by the Nepal Insurance Authority and the Nepal Securities Board.
According to the police, he was presented before the Kathmandu District Court for an extension of his remand.
A case had been filed against Rimal, along with controversial businessman Deepak Bhatt.
