A high-level committee has been formed for the 'Law Formulation and Reform Year' campaign announced by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
The fiscal year 2083/84 was declared the 'Law Formulation and Reform Year' by a decision of Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam. Minister Gautam decided to form a high-level law reform committee to ensure the success of the 'Law Formulation and Reform Year.' The committee will recommend the review, amendment, repeal, codification of existing laws, and the formulation of new laws as required by the Constitution.
The high-level law reform committee will be chaired by Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Gautam. The committee will include the relevant ministers, the Attorney General, the President of the Nepal Bar Association, the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, the Law Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the secretaries of the concerned ministries, the Secretary of the Nepal Law Commission, and the Secretary of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs as member secretary.
Through this decision, the ministry aims to make law formulation and reform systematic, timely, and effective, and to establish a constitutional, people-friendly, and contemporary legal system.
