The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a corruption case against seven individuals, including former Finance Minister of Madhesh Province Shailendra Prasad Sah.
The case was filed at the Special Court against then Finance Minister of Madhesh Province Sah, then Secretary Gajendra Kumar Thakur, then Mayor of Bagmati Municipality Bharat Kumar Thapa, and Bicoi/Dhulikhel JV, Baneshwar, Kathmandu, on charges of irregularities during the construction of Bagmati Fun Park and Resort in Bagmati Municipality, Sarlahi.
Those charged also include then Deputy Mayor of Bagmati Municipality Leela Kumari Muktan, then Chief Administrative Officer Bimal Kumar Pokharel, and then Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance of the Madhesh government Uddhav Raj Nyaupane.
They are accused of causing a loss of public property worth Rs 393,966,333. According to a statement issued Thursday by Commission spokesperson Suresh Nyaupane, claims for compensation ranging from Rs 200 million to Rs 390 million have been made against the accused.
