The government has decided to extend the incentives provided to operate Pokhara and Gautam Buddha (Bhairahawa) International Airports at full capacity and to attract international airlines until the end of Bhadra 2085.
This decision was made by the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, based on a proposal from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. Previously, the incentive period had been set until Bhadra 2083, but it has now been extended to the end of Bhadra 2085.
According to the new government provision, landing, parking, and navigation fees for regular international flights from both international airports will be fully waived until Bhadra 2085.
Additionally, while Nepal Airlines Corporation had previously provided a 25 percent discount on ground handling service charges, approval has now been granted to increase this discount to 50 percent.
Previously, the government had decided to waive passenger service charges, but after Bhadra, passengers will be required to pay the airport service fee. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, charter flights will also no longer receive any discounts. After Bhadra, all charges for charter flights must be paid in full by operators and passengers.
