The government is preparing to relocate the displaced squatters currently staying at the Nepal Red Cross Society’s training center, which serves as a holding center in Budol, Banepa Municipality–6, to the Ichangu Narayan holding center in Nagarjun.
According to Khagendra Bista, sociologist at the Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee, the transfer to Ichangu Narayan is taking place today. “We are currently at the holding center in Banepa. We are preparing to transport them by vehicle. We will reach Ichangu Narayan by this afternoon,” Bista said.
According to him, the government had planned to vacate the Banepa holding center since the 22nd of Asar. As part of that plan, food supplies had been stopped. “There is regular food provision at Ichangu Narayan. It will be more convenient for them,” he said.
