A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of former High Court Justice Keshav Prasad Bastola to investigate the self-immolation incident involving Ganesh Nepali. This decision was made by the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday.
On 25 Asar, Nepali attempted self-immolation by pouring petrol in front of the Department of Passports in Tripureshwar. He died during treatment.
Earlier, the government had agreed with Nepali's family to form a judicial investigation committee.
Similarly, the meeting also decided to remove the 3 percent equity tax previously imposed by the government on education and health.
The meeting decided to fully exempt the education equity fee and health equity fee in accordance with sub-section 1 of section 18 of the Financial Act 2083.
