In his condolence message, President Poudel said, 'I believe that future generations will continue to remember his role and contribution during the nearly four and a half decades since 2036 as a standard figure who contributed to nation building from his field and stream. I am confident that his integrity, conduct and moral life will continue to illuminate Nepali society.'
President Poudel said that Pandey's death has caused irreparable damage to Nepal's democratic movement and that the country has lost a fearless and loyal democratic civic leader who was a supporter of truth.
President Poudel's condolence message was delivered by his press advisor Kiran Pokharel and chief personal secretary Avagya Poudel to Pandey's residence in Bishalnagar. Pandey, who was suffering from cancer, passed away on Friday, August 1, at his residence in Bishalnagar.
