UML ministers in Bagmati Province have been instructed to resign. UML Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party leader Jagannath Thapaliya has instructed the ministers to resign from the government.
He said that he had instructed the ministers to resign after problems arose in the Congress-UML ruling coalition. He said that the ministers will submit their resignations to Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya at a convenient time.
There are 6 UML ministers in the Bagmati government. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Baniya, 8 of the 14 ministries currently in the province have been reduced to 8. The decision has been implemented from July 1, and 8 ministers have been given responsibilities while 6 ministers have been kept as ministers without portfolios.
In the Bagmati government, the UML has Agriculture, Livestock, Forest and Environment Minister Madhusudan Poudel, Industry, Tourism, Labor and Transport Minister Bindu Shrestha, Physical Infrastructure Development Minister Dr Dinesh Chandra Devkota, while Kiran Thapa Magar, Jayaram Shrestha and Bharat Bahadur KC are ministers without portfolios. Minister without portfolio Kiran Thapa said, "We have received instructions to resign, and we are now preparing to resign after some time."
