”Everyone has seen whether the single-door system worked in the Home Minister's home district or not. If it doesn't work here, what else will it be like? If I find out that a single rupee has been taken from a service recipient, I will take action myself.”

Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has directed the Home Minister to provide services to the citizens quickly and efficiently through the one-door system.
Gurung, who arrived in his home district Gorkha on Friday evening, instructed the employees to provide services including citizenship, passport, national identity card and other services quickly and efficiently through the one-door system. ‘I will not compromise even if it takes 16 minutes instead of 15 minutes,’ Gurung said, ‘If the one-door system is not convenient in the Home Minister’s home district, what will happen in other districts? If the citizens of his own district are facing difficulties, what will other places think? I will also see how citizenship, passport, national identity card are being distributed.’
Gurung said that he would take ‘action’ if he found that the employees took only one rupee from the service recipients. ‘If I find out that the middlemen have come and arranged it, if I find out that the employees have taken only one rupee, I will take personal action,’ he said, ‘Now the public has become aware, they are recording, such a thing should not happen.’
Home Minister Gurung also directed to arrange for CCTV cameras in all the employees’ rooms. ‘Whether the system is running or not, whether the people have received the facilities or not, let’s install CCTV cameras with voice, so that even those living in Kathmandu can watch through CCTV cameras,’ he said.
Similarly, after removing the 12-kilogram huts built by encroaching on the forest area, Gurung has also directed Chief District Officer Tulsi Bahadur Shrestha to make arrangements for one-way vehicle operation. ‘Arrangements should be made so that people can go to one place and come from another place. If you go from 13 kilos and return from 12 kilos, there will be no problem for both the settlements,’ he added, ‘This work should be done within 7 days, otherwise there will be disputes.’
