The Supreme Court has issued an interim order in the name of the Assets Investigation Commission not to seek details of assets of retired or sitting judges.
The interim order was issued by a bench of Justice Nripadhwaj Niraula.
The single bench of the Supreme Court passed the order while hearing a writ petition filed by Former Judges Forum Chairman Top Bahadur Singh. Singh had sought an interim order against the Assets Investigation Commission, saying that it was not allowed to ask for the assets details of the judge.
He said that he did not want to submit the assets details, but had approached the court against the unconstitutional move and the court had issued an order accordingly.
