Meteorologists have predicted that the rainfall will gradually increase in central and western Nepal in the next few days.

Meteorologist Sanjeev Adhikari of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said that although there was a slight decrease in rainfall on Wednesday compared to Monday and Tuesday, the rainfall is expected to increase in central and western Nepal from Thursday.

According to the department, the influence of monsoon winds is currently prevailing across the country. The department says that the monsoon low pressure line is slightly north of the average position in the western region, near the Terai, and near the average position in the eastern region, indicating an increase in rainfall activity in the central and western regions.

According to the official, it is currently normal to completely cloudy in the Himalayan and Terai regions. The highest rainfall in the last 12 hours was measured in Bajhang at 54.8 mm. Similarly, the department has reported heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours around Sindhupalchowk and some places in Koshi Province.

According to the official, there is a possibility of moderate rainfall in the Himalayan region today. Similarly, there is a possibility of rain in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.

Although there is a possibility of rain in some places in the Terai region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, comparatively less rain is forecast in Madhesh province.

The department has urged residents of areas prone to heavy rain to take necessary precautions while staying near rivers and streams, landslide-prone areas and areas with weak terrain.
