UML has objected to the suspicious vehicles being parked at the main gates of Kantipur, Online Khabar and Himal Television offices. UML Publicity Department Chief Niraj Acharya issued a statement on Monday, stating that suspicious vehicles were parked in front of the media houses, creating a panic.

‘Journalists and media personnel have been obstructed and terrorized by parking suspicious vehicles at the main gates of various media offices,’ he said in a statement. ‘Since this morning, vehicles have been parked at the gates of Kantipur Publication in Tinkune, Online Khabar in New Baneshwor and Himal Television in Madhya Baneshwor, blocking the movement of journalists. This act is a direct attack on democracy and press freedom.’

UML has stated that it is the responsibility of the state to ensure the constitutional right to freely gather and disseminate news. The statement said, 'We condemn this reprehensible and mysterious incident that has intimidated media houses and journalists and hindered their work.'
