Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has said that necessary preventive steps should be taken by making public the truth and facts of the incident where vehicles were deliberately parked in front of the offices of major media outlets, the residence of the president of the main opposition party, and the workplaces of entrepreneurs and businessmen.
Bhattarai, through a post on social media Facebook, mentioned that the incident should be thoroughly investigated and the truth should be brought out.
He commented on the incident as an evil attempt to strangle democracy and wrote in the post - 'If this was done by the government, then it is a real evil attempt to strangle democracy, which all parties and the public should unite and strongly oppose. If this is a conspiratorial act of some invisible force to defame the newly elected government and fish in murky waters by increasing the distance between the parties, then the government, opposition parties and the general public should unite to expose and defeat such atrocities.'
Whoever is guilty of the incident, when the country is seeking democratic stability, good governance and prosperity, he said that the clouds of political conflict and instability should start hovering over the country again, which is not a good sign for the democratic republic that the people fought for, the independence of the country and the happiness and prosperity of the people. At the end of the
post, he wrote - 'So, let's all be serious and responsible at this time. Let the state party be especially responsible and quickly reveal the truth of this incident!'
