There is a risk of sudden flooding in some rivers, including those in the Kathmandu Valley. The Flood Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged caution in the coastal areas of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kavre, and surrounding districts, as there is a high risk of sudden flooding in some small rivers flowing through these districts.
Additionally, river flow is expected to increase significantly in the rivers of Taplejung, Panchthar, Sankhuwasabha, Khotang, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Dhading, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Makwanpur, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, and Kaski. The department has also urged caution in rivers flowing through and around Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Dang, Pyuthan, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Jajarkot, Jumla, and Darchula, as significant flooding may occur.
Due to continuous rainfall last night, the Radhaswami Satsang Holding Center in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, was inundated when the Bagmati River flooded. After water filled the center, the displaced squatters taking shelter there have been left in distress.
As the persistent rain caused water to fill the rooms inside the holding center, all of their belongings have been submerged.
