The ‘Nepal–UAE Economic Partnership’ program was organized in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the aim of promoting Nepal as an attractive destination for investment, trade, tourism, and technology.

The event, held on Friday by the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi, featured discussions on expanding economic relations between the two countries and exploring new investment opportunities. High-ranking officials from the UAE government, investors, businesspeople, entrepreneurs, and representatives from various sectors participated in the program.

Addressing the event, Nepali Ambassador to the UAE Tej Bahadur Kshetri stated that there is ample potential to further strengthen the friendly relations between Nepal and the UAE through economic partnership. Highlighting the abundant investment opportunities in Nepal in clean energy, hydropower, tourism, agriculture, information technology, manufacturing industries, and infrastructure, he urged UAE investors to increase their investments in Nepal.

In a message sent by Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal, he welcomed greater participation of UAE investors and businesspeople in Nepal’s priority sectors and stated that the Government of Nepal is committed to long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships.

The event was attended by officials from the UAE government, including Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Trade Fahad Al Gergawi, Advisor to the Minister of Economy and Tourism and Treasurer of the Abu Dhabi Chamber Juma Mohammed Al Kait, as well as policymakers and representatives from the private sector.

According to the embassy, the program featured thematic presentations on Nepal’s economic situation, investment climate, trade and tourism prospects, Nepal–UAE investment and tax systems, and the development of the information technology sector. The presentations provided information on Nepal’s competitive advantages, policy reforms, and opportunities in the digital economy.

The event was attended by more than 120 participants, including businesspeople, investors, technology experts, representatives from the tourism sector, members of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), and businesspeople of Nepali origin.

The embassy expressed its belief that the program would contribute to the promotion of trade, investment, and tourism between Nepal and the UAE, as well as to the expansion of cooperation between the private sectors of both countries. Alongside the program, there was an exhibition of Nepali culture and handicrafts, and a promotional video highlighting Nepal’s trade and investment opportunities was also shown.
