Three people have died and 12 have been injured in a jeep accident in Kedarsyun, Bajhang. At around 3 p.m. on Saturday, a jeep with license plate Sudurpaschim Province 01-001 Cha 2644, traveling from Kandachaur in Kedarsyun Rural Municipality-7 towards Chuwabant in Durgathali Rural Municipality, fell about 300 meters off the road.

According to police, preliminary information indicates that the jeep, driven by Dev Bahadur Dhami, veered off the road. According to Durgathali-6 Ward Chair Jay Bahadur Mahat, those who died in the accident are Chakra Bahadur Mahat and Kuturidevi Mahat of Durgathali-6, and Bimala Mahat Dhami of Kedarsyun-7.

Among the injured, eight are seriously hurt, including two teachers and a former ward member. The seriously injured are jeep driver Dev Bahadur Dhami, Jhalka Devi Mahat, Jaymati Devi Mahat, Hasuli Devi Mahat, teacher Ram Bahadur Mahat, Harka Devi Mahat, teacher Dev Bahadur Jagri, and former ward member Ram Bahadur Mahat.

Those with minor injuries are Dhanesher Jagri, Nawaraj Dhami, Ramesh Dhami, and Biru Jagri.

According to preliminary information, there were 16 people, including the driver, in the jeep. After the accident, rescue operations were carried out with the help of local residents, and preparations are underway to send the injured to hospital for treatment, according to Lekhraj Rawal, disaster focal person of Kedarsyun Rural Municipality.
