The Supreme Court issued a notice on Friday stating that, starting from July 23, it will hear petitions for ex parte hearings on appeals in government criminal cases that do not have an order to summon the defendant.

The Supreme Court will hear review and permission petitions from Shrawan 4 to 7. Issuing a notice on Friday, the Supreme Court stated that from Shrawan 8, it will hear petitions for ex parte hearings in criminal appeal cases prosecuted by the Government of Nepal, where no order has been issued to summon the respondent.
The Supreme Court has stated that from Shrawan 11, cases and petitions will be heard regularly as before. It is customary not to hear cases for some time during the change of the fiscal year. However, this year, with the aim of maintaining regular hearings, the court has decided to hear certain specified cases.
