The police are questioning three municipal police employees regarding the incident involving Ganesh Nepali, who set himself on fire by pouring petrol in front of the Department of Passports in Tripureshwar on Thursday.

Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai said that they are being questioned at the District Police Range, Kathmandu. "We are collecting details about what happened in the incident; they have not been taken into custody," he told Kantipur.

The police have not disclosed the names of those employees. Nepali died during treatment at Bir Hospital on Friday.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Dilip Ghimire, chief of Kathmandu Police Range, Nepali had parked his motorcycle in front of the Department of Passports, and the Metropolitan Police had placed a wheel lock on it.

The police said that, upset over the wheel lock on his bike, he took petrol from the motorcycle and set himself on fire.
