The Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and Social Security has launched a wheelchair service from today to ensure convenience and accessibility for service seekers coming to the ministry.
The wheelchair service has been made available throughout the ministry premises, targeting individuals who have difficulty walking, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and other service seekers as needed.
The ministry stated that this service, initiated with the aim of providing a convenient, safe, and dignified environment for citizens coming to receive services, is expected to make public service delivery more accessible, inclusive, and citizen-friendly. Ministry spokesperson Chakra Bahadur Budha said that the wheelchair service was started targeting service seekers who come to the ministry for official purposes.
He said, “I have heard that wheelchair services have started in all ministries, but our ministry has two wheelchairs. If any service seeker who uses a wheelchair comes for a meeting or to receive services, we have made wheelchairs available to facilitate them.”
The ministry has taken this initiative in line with the Government of Nepal’s commitment to inclusive governance, equal access, and citizen-friendly service delivery. The ministry also stated that it will continue to implement further improvement programs in the coming days, focusing on the needs and convenience of service seekers.
