Fourteen people, including former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, have been found guilty in the fake Bhutanese refugee case. The Kathmandu District Court found them guilty on Tuesday.

Similarly, seven people have been acquitted in the same case. Ram Sharan KC, Tank Kumar Gurung, Sandeep Rayamajhi, Pratik Thapa, Laxmi Maharjan, Keshav Tuladhar and Ashish Budhathoki have been acquitted. The case of the absconding accused has been adjourned to be dealt with as per the law at the time of their arrest.

Those found guilty include Rayamajhi, Khand, Keshav Dulal, Sanu Bhandari, Sagar Rai, Sandesh Sharma, Indrajit Rai, Govinda Kumar Chaudhary, Angtawa Sherpa, and Tek Narayan Pandey. The court's brief order states that they committed a crime against the state by committing fraud in an organized manner.

Similarly, the order mentions that Khand, Teknath Rijal, Narendra KC, Shamsher Miya, Haribhakta Maharjan, Niranj Kumar Kharel committed crimes as accomplices in crimes against the state.

The case has been adjourned as per the law while the absconding defendants

Ashok Pokharel, Dhiren Rai, Deepa Humaganji, Niraj Rai, Rajesh Aryal, Mohanraj Rai, Binita Savden Limbu and Sunil Budhathoki were arrested.
