Bhaswar Ojha, a founding member of the Photojournalist Club and a senior photojournalist, has passed away during treatment. He passed away on Monday while undergoing treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.
Ojha had been active in Nepali photojournalism for more than two decades and had made significant contributions to the development and promotion of the photojournalism and photography sector. He had worked as a photojournalist for Samaya Rastriya Weekly, Nagarik under Nepal Republic Media and Republica Daily, and Kantipur Daily under Kantipur Publications. In recent times, he was active in freelance photojournalism.
A statement issued by the Photojournalist Club stated that with his death, the Nepali photojournalism sector has lost a qualified, experienced, fearless and dedicated photojournalist. In addition, the club has lost an active, honest and inspiring founding member and guardian.
