Home Minister Sudan Gurung arrived in Biratnagar early on Saturday morning. He landed at Biratnagar Airport by Buddha Air at 10:57 am.

Home Minister Gurung is inspecting the district administration, prison office, provincial police and other offices in Biratnagar. He is planning to inspect the provincial office of the Armed Police Force in Pakali, Itahari soon after.

According to a security official in Biratnagar, no formal program has been made public regarding the detailed program of the Home Minister.

According to security sources, Home Minister Gurung is likely to monitor the border security situation, disaster preparedness and administrative activities in Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari, including districts. However, the Home Ministry has not made the tour schedule public.

A security official said that the Home Minister's visit has been kept secret considering security sensitivity.
