A diving team has been deployed from the Disaster Management Training School, Kurintar, of the Armed Police Force Nepal to search for the missing vehicle and passengers in the accident that occurred on the Karnali Highway at Sangetada, Chamunda Bindrasaini Municipality-7, Dailekh district.
According to DSP Shailendra Thapa, Joint Spokesperson of the Armed Police Force Nepal, a team of four divers under the command of Armed Police Inspector Prem Bahadur Tamang went there on Asad 19. The team will reach the incident site today on Asad 20 and start searching with equipment.
The team has taken sonar cameras, magnets and other equipment used for searching underwater and in water bodies.
A force vehicle bearing the number Karnali Province 02-001 Kha 1055, which was heading towards Kalikot from Surkhet, fell into the Karnali River about 6/700 meters below the road on Asad 18.
As soon as the news of the accident was received, a team including 6 divers from the Armed Police Force Nepal Gulma Dailekh, Upper Karnali Hydropower Project Security Base and Armed Police Force Nepal No. 6 Maheshwori Bahini Headquarters, Surkhet were deployed for rescue.
On the same day, the body of a man was recovered from a cliff about 400 meters below the accident site. The condition of the vehicle and other passengers is still unknown.
