Khanal and other top officials have been transferred following the directives of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, a senior official at the Police Headquarters said. Khanal has been transferred to the Work Department of the Police Headquarters, Naxal.
DIG of the Work Department Arun Poudel has been sent to the CIAA. The transfer was made by the decision of Home Minister Sudhan Gurung on Friday. Earlier, 2 Superintendents of Police, 6 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and 9 Police Inspectors (Inspectors) working in the CIAA were transferred. The DSPs to be transferred include Umesh Lamsal, Madanjit Mahara, Gautam Thapa. All of them were working under the Police Division of the CIAA.
