The government has appointed Hikmat Bahadur Rawal of Kailali as the General Manager of Gorkhapatra Sansthan. The Cabinet meeting held on Thursday appointed Rawal, informed Education and Sports Minister Sasmit Pokharel, who is also the government spokesperson.
The decision was made on the proposal of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Minister Pokharel informed.
Earlier, the Ministry of Information and Communications had published a list of 10 people from among those who applied for the post of General Manager. Rawal, who was appointed as the General Manager, worked as the Sudurpaschim Bureau Chief of Avenues Television for a long time.
Then he worked as the Sudurpaschim Bureau Chief of News 24 Television. After that, he worked for some time at Galaxy Television. Recently, he was also associated with BBC Nepali.
The Ministry of Information and Communications' shortlist of 10 names included Rawal, along with Narayan Prasad Sapkota, Bheshraj Pandey, Rajan Nepal, Ramchandra Aryal, Rudra Bahadur Khadka, Laxman Karki, Bishwaraj Khanal, Shantaram Bidari, and Shiva Kumar Bhattarai.
